Minseo CP # 5

On Wednesday, Suyeol came a little bit early than I expected, so he joined with my other conversation partner meeting with Bayasgalan about 10 minutes. As soon as Bayasgalan left, Soyeol told me that he didn't understand what Bayashalan said in Korean. I made him to say the sentence in English because I wanted to know if he could do it or not(Korean students tend to make mistakes when they use indirect question sentences)and I caught him making a mistake again. So we decided to study and practice making indirect questions and answering indirect question.

I gave him a lot of examples and had him to make indirect question sentences.
He seemed like he didn't understand how to do it, so I explained the rules.

For example,

Do you know ~?
What is her name?
=> Do you know what her name is?
Here, S and V are inverted.

I wonder~.
Why did she a stupid thing?
=> I wonder why she did such a stupid thing.
Here, again, S and V are inverted.

I know native Americans probably understand if he says "I don't know what her name" or "Do you know what is her name?" But, I think it will be very useful for him to be able to make indirect questions and be alge to answer the questions because it is correct(haha) and sounds more natural.

This conversation partner meeting was more like tutoring than having a conversation, but I am sure that it was worth it and it will help him!
