Erika CP#5

I met my partner third conversation partner for the first time and I was very surprised at how difficult speaking English seemed to be for her. She teaches English, but had a hard time understanding me. I really had to work on monitoring myself. I had to speak a lot slower than a normally do with a CIES student. I find it quite difficult to constantly speak slowly, it is definitely something I need to work on. There were a couple of sentences I said that she did not understand no matter how slow I said it and no matter how many different ways I said it. For those two sentences I translated it, I broke down the sentences in a couple of fragments. I would say part of it in Portuguese and then say it in English; once she understood the sentence I said it as a full sentence in English.
