Minseo Choi CP # 2

Conversation partner: Bayasgalan

I met him on Monday at 5: 30 to 7:00. First, I started talking about family, especially about his children, to low his affective filter. He was not be able to say what he wanted to, but he tried really hard to make a full sentence and he seemed less nervous when I met him the other day. He told me that how much he missed his family and how much he loved them. He also told me about his job experiences. I was not able to understand what he actually meant though. It was a little bit hard for me to understand and guess what he was trying to say because first of all, I didn't know the medical terms, second of all, I was frustrated to guess. I was trying to remember the time when I just started speaking English to understand how he felt so I could keep his affective filter lower. (I think native English teachers are very patient and nice in general!!!!!!)
Then he said he wanted to study some grammar, so we studied:

1) grammar quiz check
He took a quiz that day and he wanted for me to correct his answers. I made him try to correct himself first and corrected him.

2) tenses- simple present & present continuous / singular & plural
I explained him about simple present and present continuous tenses and gave him a lot of examples.
I explained him about singular and plural nouns.

3) Disney book
I gave him a children's book so that he could read it easily and see the simple sentence structures.
