G2 Grammar - Felicia
Agenda
1) Bell ringer: it is a pre-lesson activity. Students have to read, write, or talk about the topic on the board in time.
2) Attendance
3)Grammar review
I think having today's agenda on the board help student to keep up with the class.
Grammar Lesson: modals
1)Error correction
She had student answer questions by using modals in time. It was a speaking and writing integrated activity. Whenever students made grammar mistakes, she used the "What??" skill, and students had to correct their errors themselves. Sometimes, she repeated students' errors. Either way, students had to correct their own errors.
2) Reasoning
She had students find the reason why they are doing the activity. I think this is very important for students to know why they are studying the topic and why they are doing the activity.
3) Writing activity using modals
She gave me a chance to correct students errors on their writing. It wasn't easy at all because I had a trouble with understanding what students wanted to say. After the class, she told me that I could always ask students about what they were trying to say if I didn't understand. (She said, use "?????" lol)
Above all, her class was very communicative and interactive. Also, it was very students-centered. Besides, I could learn how to react when I didn't understand what students were saying. And I felt that the her class were just like what Snow book said.
