Today I met with my tutoring partner during lunch. We went over a paper she wrote. I highlighted areas where she made errors and most of the time she corrected them herself.  Many of the mistakes were lack of articles, subject verb agreement, or using two different tenses in a sentence. Sometimes this is allowed (conditional statements), but her sentences did not make sense when she made this error. Again, most of the time she was able to tell me why something was wrong. I would also give an example using another sentence to show her why an article was needed or why two different tenses don’t make sense in some sentences.
