Wednesday afternoon (the 7th) I met with David Hong. We started out watching a documentary about Apollo 13 and how they dealt with the malfunctions of the spacecraft. We got as far as the part where the explosions took place and ground control was troubleshooting and trying to figure out what had happened. I sensed that the documentary was somewhat above his level of interest and wasn't simple and fast paced enough to hold his attention for very long, so when we had finished the first couple parts I had him write out a summary of what had happened so far. I then asked him if there was anything in particular that he was interested in seeing, and he said plane crashes. It seems he had already heard something about the Korean airlines crash because he was talking about a specific crash that had happened recently that he wanted to look at. I found several news clips about the crash that described the causes and details of what had gone wrong, and then I helped him analyze the details and write a summary of them.
Once again we took a break a little bit past halfway and played a game of Uno with Matthew and Lindsey, and when that was done we played hangman and tic tak toe until it was time to go.
