DJ CP #6
Yesterday I met up with Wayo. We were supposed to meet on Monday but she was very sick and told me she was thinking about going to the hospital. the last time we met, we ended up talking about videogames. When I told her I like them, she asked me to teach her. She also wanted another one of my students, Kwang(the one who works for the Korean Department of Education), but when I asked him about it he said no.
Anyways, we met up at Strozier, and she had 2 friends with her. I said "That's fine, now we can play a 4 player game." On the walk to my house, I asked her how she had been, if anything interesting had happened. She said not really, but she had a traditional chicken dinner last night. I asked her if it was a holiday or something and she said no, just a tradition.
When we got to my house, we started playing Super Smash Brothers. It's a game by Nintendo that is sort of based off of Sumo Wrestling(you try to get your opponent out of the ring). Her two friends both seemed to speak and hear English very well, and all of them followed my directions well. They all seemed to like the game, and we tried playing me versus all 3 of them. I won, but only just barely. Then I showed them fruit ninja kinect, a game that uses your whole body to play. They seemed to like that. At one point, someone accidentally knocked over some water. I was then really embarrassed because they were all cleaning up the water and noticing how dirty my floor was. It's tricky when you live alone, because you don't really care how messy things are until someone comes over.
Before they left, Wayo asked me to get Kakao talk, which is an app for your phone that allows you to text for free. I'm not really sure how it works, though I assume it uses wifi networks. If this is the case, we could really just use facebook messaging or email, but whatever. Wayo told me she had a really fun time. We will meet again on Friday to make up for Monday.
