On Wednesday(7/10) I met Eunyoung at her house to watch "Sex and the city 6" together and study grammar. We were so excited to watch it because it was one of our favorite drama show. I watched ep4. And I was super focused on what they were saying so that I could make notes. I told EY that she needed to make notes as well(expressions she heard).
What we had:
Take it slow
He is just not that into you
I am intrigued
A lot of guys are afraid of getting their feelings hurt
Do you think Debby picks at Steve?
All women pick
etc.
We discuss the meanings and I had her make 10 sentences with those expressions. For example, she made a sentence that "Do you pick at Bryan a lot?"
It was so much fun even though we were studying and she looked she was very interesting at studying new expressions that she could not learn at school.
We also studied relative clauses since she wanted to know how to use "with whom" and "what".
We studied the book "Grammar in use" first and gave her many examples and had her to make sentences.
I tried to make the class(?) student-centered as much as I could so that she could have more chance to practice. I think student-centered class works when the student are excited about learning new things and are actively involved in.
